So if you actually read my post about Diskeeper’s European website not having accurate exchange rates. So I got an email today about it from their Public Relations Department with an apology as well as a little surpise:
Hi there,
This is Derek from Diskeeper’s international office. I’m glad you spoke out on this issue, as the exchange rates were in fact changed in December to reflect the fluctuating Euro but apparently were not updated on the European site.
I sincerely apologize for the irk-factor caused to you. Sometimes, people make an honest mistake. And to that end, I hope you will allow me the opportunity to make matters right.
They have also offered me a copy of their Diskeeper Pro Premier (approximately $100 value).
I would like to thank Diskeeper Corporation not only for their very generous gift but for also taking the time to admit that they were wrong and to actually attempt to fix the problem.

Sounds to me as if they haven’t I would suggest writing to their customer support about the issue.

Have they fixed the probem? Server edition on american website = $299.95 while on the european website it’s at £292.90.

That’s not a bad deal. The last piece of software i complained about went under. Ever hear of a game called “Jack Orlando”? Me either, and I did a voice over for it!

Yep I’m pretty happy with their Customer Service as well. I never really expected them to actually do anything about it let alone contact me with an apology.

Wow, that’s cool! I saw your earlier blog post and was curious as to the outcome. I would have never imagined that they would admit to their error and give you free stuff, that too one of their high end products! That’s excellent customer service from Diskeeper; something most corporations these days lack. Kudos to them.
PS: Here is SE Asia, we too end up having to pay quite a bit more than the US prices (even converted directly) for a lot of software. What is really irritating is that we often end up paying about 1.5x even after conversion, for hardware, although most of it is made right next door in China, Malaysia or Taiwan. Go figure!
