Our wordpress admins were so excited about the adding of the tag system that they forgot to check that it works ok and that it would be easily integrated into the software along with categories. So today I ended up just wiping my categories and re-adding/assigning them to my posts at the same time cleaning up the tags so that there are no overlaps. Damned good thing that I only have about 45 posts or that would have been a royal pain in my arse rather than a mild discomfort to my left butt cheek.
So where did they go wrong? One of the first things I found was that the sub-categories quit working and when assigning categories as a sub-category it would disappear (Where the fuck did it go? No body knows). So I put in a post at the forum, and got several people agreeing that they also have the same problem but no one actually had a solution. So then the admins put out a post that they have created a category to tag converter. Yet when I run it some of my categories don’t even display. When I convert some sub-categories there are still place holders under the parent (WTF?). So finally I just got fed up with the crap and just wiped everything and re-organized. I really wish we could get some better feedback from the developer/admins on what the hell is going on? I hope there won’t be anymore problems with this now that I’ve got my blog sorted the way I like it.
