You buy a new device or get new software to install on your computer, you put the CD in the drive and then the autostart runs and starts some installer for your new software. However, the people who created the installer feel that they have to take over your entire screen so that you can’t even see your start menu.
Tonight I am installing the software to allow my computer and new Mobile Phone to talk to each other. I put the CD in and before I can do anything else my entire screen goes white from a Flash application no less (don’t get me started on how I hate flash). Then I have to go through all these animations just to select the software that I want to install. I’ve got a few things to say about this to the people who develop these disks:
- I am already installing your fucking software I don’t need eye candy to get me to click the links. Give me a simple list of software available and I’ll choose what I want.
- Stop taking up my entire screen. I want to have access to other parts of my computer besides your damned installer.
